Craps. When you get down to it it’s nothing more than a pair of dice being flung to the far end of the table. Whether you play online or off, there’s nothing more to it than that: just a simple roll of the dice. Craps seems pretty simple.
Or does it? In fact like any game of chance the key to playing a good game of craps is the ability to calculate your odds. What are the chances that two numbers will turn up? In many cases, not very good: therefore you need to know which numbers are most likely to roll true.
Scores in this game are achieved by adding up the dice. Therefore you’re far less likely to get one score than another. Take a total of two, for instance. You have to get a very specific set of results - namely, two ones - to get a two. That’s it. There’s no other combination that will do. Therefore you’re likely to win a great deal more - usually upwards of 30:1 odds - if you actually manage to hit the elusive snake eyes.
So do the shooters and watching gamblers have any advantages? Do the odds ever increase? They can. Just look to pass line bets. They’re placed by any non shooting gambling, either when the shooter is rolling for the first time or if they’ve just rolled a natural. Pass line bets then face a fifty-fifty risk: if the shooter rolls a seven or eleven on the first throw after the bets have been made, all pass line betters win. If the shooter rolls a two, three or twelve, however, the pass line betters lose their money.
Another good online strategy is the come bet. The come bet differs in that, if the shooter does not roll any of the winning or losing numbers, he must continue rolling in an attempt to get the point number he rolled in the first place. If he manages to roll that number the come bet will go through; however, if he rolls a seven before getting that point number, he loses.
